Suggest Treatment For Acute Left Hip Bursitis

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Oct 2016
Question: I had an episode of acute left hip bursitis in April. Had an injection in late april with several P.T. treatments. The hip did not get any better until perhaps early XXXXXXX Now it is a chronic dull ache, getting a bit more severe after a 3-4 mile easy walk. I am used to doing much more exercise than this. Should I seek out more medical help?
Thank you,

Brief Answer:
Get a Ct-Scan of this hip done!

Detailed Answer:
HI,

Am so sorry to hear about this pain. I have reviewed your information fully. The exact cause of this pain still seems elusive to me because bursitis would generally respond to steroid injections. I will rather want a CT-Scan done to establish the nature of the the hip joint and surrounding structures. If we detect a specific disease condition, then treatment would be tailored to that. Else, we should provide adequate pain control and probably physical therapy to help address the pain.

Feel free to share my thoughts and suggestion with your doctor and let me know what the findings are. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
