Brief Answer:
Viral fever mostly subsides with symptomatic treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

Viral infections are pretty common among people.

Since it does not caused by bacteria, here antibiotics are ineffective or not required unless there is some secondary bacterial infection.

Routine blood works with urinalysis can be done to rule out bacterial infection.

Viral infections resolve spontaneously within 5-7 days even without the use of antibiotics.

Treatment is only symptomatic or supportive.

1) All you have to do is to bring down the fever by the use of paracetamol or ibuprofen available over the counter.

2) You may also take some anti-allergic medicines like levocetirizine for a few days.

3) Drink plenty of water and fruit juices but avoid cold water and ice-cream if you have cold or feeling chills.

4) Take only light or soft diet as it is usual to have low appetite during viral fever.Avoid taking oily, spicy and out-side food.Home food is preferable.

5) Gargle with lukewarm water after adding a little salt in it to get relief from sore throat if there, caused by viral fever.

6) Put handkerchief around mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing to avoid spread of virus among people.

7) Take complete bed rest until fever subsides or you feel better.

Hope this information will be helpful.
