Question: YES, A FEW DAYS AGO THE HEARING IN MY RIGHT EAR SUDDENLY REDUCED ABOUT 50%, IT CRACKELS AND POPS WHEN I YAWN OR SWALLOW, THE LEFT EAR IS FINE, NOT TAKING ANY MEDS, YEAR END ALERGIES WERE ACTING UP AS USUAL, ANY IDEAS? XXXXXXX

It is possible that you may have eustachian tube dysfunction which is a possible complication that can occur with acute sinusitis though there are other causes of sudden hearing loss.

The eustachian tube is a tube in the ear that has different actions including regulating the pressure in the ear.

Abnormal function can cause different symptoms including those that you mentioned.

Treatment would include the use of an antihistamine, decongestant combination. You can try both oral and nasal decongestants.
These medications are available over the counter.

A topical nasal spray may also be needed eg nasonex, nasocort, flonase. A prescription may be needed for one of these.

You should consider visiting your doctor for an assessment because sudden hearing loss should always be assessed even the eustachian tube is the most likely cause
