Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to anxiety.

Nevertheless, a cardiac disorder like possible arrhythmia or ischemia can not be excluded.

What is your heart rate?

Has this situation occurred before?

I recommend going to the ER for a careful physical examination, a resting ECG and some blood lab tests:

- complete blood count
- blood electrolytes
- kidney and liver function tests.

If all the above tests result normal, the most probable cause of your symptoms would be just pure anxiety.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes!

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Is your pain modulated by respiration or body movements?

This would indicate a musculoskeletal pain.

Have you tried any painkillers?

I recommend taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

If the pain persists you should go to the ER for a resting ECG, chest X ray study and the above mentioned tests, including inflammation tests.

A back bone disorder can not be excluded. A cervical column X ray study would also be helpful, but it is not necessary to be performed urgently. It can wait until consulting with your GP.

Greetings!

Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information.

Your symptoms don't seem to be cardiac related.

So don't worry about it!
Just try to relax!

The fact that your pain is getting better from local heat, indicates a musculoskeletal pain.

Anxiety can also aggravate the situation as you are oversensitive to the pain.

I recommend taking acetaminophen 1000mg or ibuprofen 400mg.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above mentioned issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best regards!
