Brief Answer:
Motion sickness can be controlled.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The motion sickness is caused by a mismatch in the visual input and the balance input from the inner ears.

2. This is usually vehicle specific. Try reading in other modes of transport. If this happens only in the car, sit closer to the centre of gravity of the car.

3. Try to cut off the visual input from the windows by using blinds or try reading at night with a reading light.

4. A tablet of avoimine (promethazine) 25 mg, taken an hour before the journey can be tried occasionally.

5. Let me know the results of there trials for further treatment options.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

avoimine do help, but I do have to take it prior to travel(may take ocassionaly- while travelling to hilly areas) but in normal day to day life, I belive medicine won't be of much help...

& regarding using blinds... will try it out... but some people suggested to look out of window & blinds will stop that... do you have anything more as to how to control... Tried sitting at front/back... results were same Nauseous feeling in both cases...

Any other thing I can try out...?

Brief Answer:
Try these options in addition.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. You can keep the book at eye level where there is dome input from the surroundings. This will either help or worsen the motion sickness.

2. You can also try opening the windows for better feedback to the brain as to the speed of travel.

3. Acupressure wrist travel bands are popular in other countries. You will have to source them online.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
