Is It Safe To Sail And Fly With Labyrinthitis History?

I am a 27 year old woman that was diagnosed with an inner ear infection (Labyrinthitis) last Wednesday and I have been trying to get over it for the past week. The problem started with severe vertigo, but has been getting somewhat better every day. I am 25 weeks pregnant so the doctor just prescribed me Antivert and Phenergan. This Friday, my husband and I are scheduled to fly to the Grenadines for a 6 day sailing trip. Do you think that flying and sailing will be detrimental to my recovery?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Flying and sailing can exacerbate your vertigo. For this reason, I would recommend avoiding these activities in the next couple of weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
