Brief Answer:
Difficulty in passing urine needs doctor's check-up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, let me advise you to see a doctor and get examined.
If the bladder does not empty, the urine will collect there, and over a period of time, give rise to pain. The doctor will then pass a tube(catheter), and empty it.
Then the doctor will perform certain tests, to find out the cause for it.
When your bladder starts filling up in 6-8 hours time, then you feel a discomfort in the lower part of your abdomen, with pain.
The tests include,Hb,urea, creatinine, sugar, and an ultrasound scan of abdomen.
According to reports, the doctor will be able to treat you, to prevent a recurrence.
Pain meds alone doesn't cause urine to remain in bladder, but it does contribute to affecting kidney function.
Get well soon.
