Suggest Remedy For Fungal Infection On Ankle

Question: A doctor told me i have a fungel infection on my ankle. I tried tinactin. It has been over two months now and is just getting worse. I need another opinion

Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query and picture. It looks like fungal infection. Tolnaftate (tinactin) is not so effective in al fungal infections. You need more effective antifungal like terbinafine There is skin inflammation also. Bacterial infection can coexist also.

So in such case if you were my patient then I would recommend using ointments containing combination of anti fungal like terbinafine , anti bacterial like ofloxacin & ornidazole , and corticosteroid like clobetasol for local application.
