Suggest Remedy For Excessive Gas After Having Food

Question: I eat the same lunch every day and have excessive gas/bowel run off in about 2-3 hours. My lunch consists of the following: marinated vegetables (corn,string beans, garden peas), chicken salad, pimento cheese, multi-grain, gluten free crackers, fruit bowl (apples, oranges,peaches,pineapple,watetermeol, cantaloupe) diet green.

What causes my problem?

I appreciate your concern

The foods you described are much varied. During a single meal our digestive system can respond to about 4 to 5 different types of food, easily. When one overburdens the stomach with such a variety then based upon the food quality, quantity and tolerance to that mix of foods , there can be acidity associated with intake of such combinations. These can be especially pronounced if the combination of foods has been started recently. I would advise you to limit the variety of foods and may increase the quantity of a few food items. For the time being a PPI can be started for a couple of weeks to allay any exacerbated acidity /reflux disease, in consult with your doctor.
