Brief Answer:
Few weeks to a few months.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Age not mentioned - Female - LN on left side pain and enlargement 1 week - ENT - USG and FNAC - diagnosed LN TB 3 days back - on AKT 4 - LN painful and enlargement not controlled - wants to know when would be control and how many weeks...

The enlargement and the pain is usually due to secondary infection in addition to the infection of TB hence I would suggest you hte following:
- To take a 1-2 weeks course of an antibiotic other than AKT and also add on an anti-inflammatory medicine.
- This will help the control of pain and swelling.
- TB medications work slowly and take about 3 weeks to a few months to show its results and hence the treatment schedule is of minimum 6 months.
- This is the period that may be taken for control of pain and enlargement.
- The another reason for slow regression is the nature of the lymph node hyperplasia that responds slowly and hence the need for a long treatment.
I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
