Brief Answer:
Possibly inflammatory arthritis or infectious arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

The pain and swelling in fingers, more severe during night time and rather an acute onset 96-8 weeks) is suggestive of Inflammatory arthritis.
There are several causes for inflammatory arthritis. Inflammatory arthritis occurs due to your immune system attacking the joints. Another important consideration is possible infections like Lyme disease. Lyme disease is a possibility if you had a recent history of camping or tick bite.
Investigations like Xray of Affected joints, blood investigations including ESR, CRP Rheumatoid factor, Lyme antibodies are recommended at this point.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for necessary evaluation.
Meanwhile, you can take Advil 600 mg up to 4 times daily (which is more potent than acetaminophen) to reduce pain and swelling. Advil is available over the counter. You can also apply topical Bengay ointment. More potent medications for pain like Tramadol requires a prescription for purchase. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you prescriptions here.
