Suggest Medication For Fibromyalgia

Posted on Mon, 30 Nov 2015
Question: I am a 44 yo female, 5 feet tall, and weigh 149 pounds. I have fibromyalgia and reactive hypoglycemia. My fibro makes it hard to work out consistently and I have not been very good at controlling my reactive hypoglycemia. I work at a desk for 8 hours a day and I'm a full time MBA student, so I spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer. I have been on weight watchers, counted calories, and tried the 21-day diet. I have been unable to lose weight. I want to lose at least 15 pounds, but am not sure how to do that given my condition. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Brief Answer:
walking

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concern,
For those who have high weight and fibromyalgia, need to do slowly graded exercises.
I advise you to go for swimming- if you can.. this is best
otherwise other aerobic exercise like brisk walking, playing outdoor games in a graded manner will also help
also avoid fatty food and chocolate, take fruits and vegetables more.
All these will help you to reduce weight and fibro also.

take care

Thank you for your response. Can you please address my question regarding controlling reactive hypoglycemia? I need an eating plan that will keep my reactive hypoglycemia in check while allowing me to lose weight.

Brief Answer:
dietary control

Detailed Answer:
if you have confirm reactive hypoglycemia than dietary changes are required mostly.
For reactive hypoglycemia, the recommendations are--
1. Eating small amount of meals/ snacks about every 3-4 hours
2. Avoiding/ limiting sugar intake
3. Exercising regularly and in same type of exercise; exercise increases sugar uptake which decreases excessive insulin release
4. Eating a variety of foods, including meat, poultry, fish, or nonmeat sources of protein, foods such as whole-grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products;
4. Choosing high-fiber foods.
5. Low-carbohydrate diet and/or frequent small split meals is the first treatment of this condition

hope this will help
