Brief Answer:
Mood stabilisers can work in explosive anger outbursts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have explosive anger issues and depression. For depression you are on Vibryd or Vilazodone and the drug is working for depression. In most of patients of depression anger occurs due to atypical features of depression and in most the anger remains limited to irritability on minor issues. But you have issues of explosive anger and this could be occurring due to mood variations. This anger can occur due to intermittent explosive disorder and this need proper evaluation.

In most cases with anger outbursts medicines especially mood stabilisers work. Divalproate Sodium, Lithium Carbonate or Lamotrigine etc drugs can help to stabilise the mood and will help to control the anger outbursts. Lamotrigine is even useful for depressive symptoms also. So you can consult your doctor for prescription of either of these drugs and these drugs will help you in controlling explosive anger outbursts.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. If you have more doubts please don't hesitate to ask again.

Take care
