Suggest Dosage For Gabapentin While Suffering From Restless Legs Syndrome

Question: I have parkinsons for many years, lately I start to have the restless legs syndrome, that don't let me sleep, my neurologist gave me gabapentin 300mg, the dosage reccomanded.
Last night I toke the first pill and I slept like a baby!
MY QUESTION IS; Can i take only 2 pills x day instead the reccomanded 2 three time a day?
I am always worry of drugs and if with only one was good, why no keep low dosage and wait to increase the dosage if do not works?
