Suggest Dosage For Amizep
Question: few days back i asked you a question regarding my dad. and you said it was because of over medication.
his medicines were
1. Stablon 12.5mg
2. Baclofen 10 mg
Three times a day.
And amizep 12.5 mg once in morning and 2 tablet in night
Stressnil 0.5 mg in night.
you suggested to stop stressnil initially.
its been 10 days and thankfully he is better now. but still not completely out of over medication.
so what should be next step as you also mentioned about amizep tab dose decrement.
this is the link of that discussion.

good-
better at daily activities now than before.
now he himself ask for food, so he looks aware.
does not look that confused now.
bad-
but looks like he is good at routine work. this time he also got ready on sunday f or school. means he didnt had any idea about what day it is or may be he didnt cared to remember.
he is not able to tell exactly what he want to say.he stops in between like his mind get blank.
usually he is calm but reply in irritation only to my mom.

Brief Answer:
I think time to stop Amizep for morning and one tablet at night
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.
From the available description it appears that he is still have confusion toward time and incoherent speech.
I feel there is two things to done.
To stop the morning dose of Amizep and just to continue only 12.5 mg of amizep in total. To decrease from amizep 37.5 mg to 12.5 mg.
The second thing is to add thiamine to his treatment. Although there are multiple brands for same but to start Benfomet plus two times a day is better option from Sun phrama.
I hope this helps him further.
Thanks and regards

thanks for your valuable reply.
one more thing, what can we do about his irritation.
by default he doesnt say anything in irritation on his own. but when my mom tell him something to do , like - ask him for food or to take bath. then he reply in irritation saying he will do it later or he will do it in his own way.
he is kind of lazy or postpone things. may be he feels like she is ordering him and he wants to do as per his wish.
so what we should about it.

Brief Answer:
Tactful handling will be the right answer
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.
Regarding irritation thing I feel tactful handling of the patient will be right strategy in current situation. Increased irritability is common and I do not feel he should be subjected for more medications at this stage. I agree there are medicines but they are associated with side effect and should not be preferred.
Since irritability is wrong perception of request as command so even changing language to some extent may help. Regarding amotivation (laziness) it may persist for few weeks so not to worry. Over the time he will be OK to be active as in past.
I hope this assists you.
Thanks and regards.
