Question: Ringing right ear. Tenderness under right eye. Sore tonsils. Symptoms started approximately 8 weeks ago. No elevated temperature. Past history of sinus infections. Chronic strep throat as a child. Still have tonsils. Are you able to write a prescription for an antibiotic if deemed necessary?

I read your query and here is my advice.

I don't think that this can be tonsillitis because you don't have fever.
I think most probably it can be a sinusitis because you are having tenderness on right eye and ringing right ear.
You are having sinusitis reoccurrence since you are saying that you had history of sinusitis in past.
It has been for quite long, 8weeks so antibiotics are necessary.
If you were my patient I would have treated it with augmentin and decongestants.
You should visit your doctor for a prescription because I don't think you can take them in pharmacy with my recommendation.
