Question: I just got out of the shower and noticed a small purplish colored spot on my penis. It is not swollen and it is not sore. Any ideas?

Brief Answer: it might be due to bleeding under skin Detailed Answer: Hi, I had gone through your query and understand your concerns. There is small purplish colored spot in your penis, which is bothering you, it is not swollen nor it is sore. Most of the penis spot i had seen and heard are due to some subcutaneous vessel injury due to sexual activities or excessive masturbation. A bruise will usually go away on its own within a few weeks , and not require any specific therapy. but the mark doesn't go away within a few weeks; OR, you notice other bruises or blood spots where you haven't been hurt; OR, you get large bruises after minor injuries; OR, you have bleeding from the gums, nose, or intestinal tract (blood in the stool); OR, you are experiencing any pain, Then it might require a emergency intervention. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Hi doctor... Around 3 weeks ago, I got a bruise on the inside of my arm.. Around 5 cm above my wrist. Around 4 hours Prior to the bruise I got a sun tan( which I didn t tan for a long time..) I got really drunk that night and forgot how I got the bruise... But the bruise somehow didn t go away.. Plus there is some light pinkish colorless little dots forming in the middle of the bruise... I wonder what causes this to happen? ( I haven t put on any cream or ointment to the bruise until 3 days ago when I find out the bruise isn t going away although it doesn t hurt.. Plus it formed those tiny dots that doesn t look too pleasing when looking at it closely..) please let me know what might be causing these symptoms... Much thanks... Daryl

Two weeks ago I noticed a bruise the size of a thumb on the anterior aspect of my left shoulder. The bruise went through the typical healing characteristics and disappeared. Today I noticed a new bruise in the exact same place, back to being a fresh bruise. No pain, not on any anticoagulants or medications. PMH insignificant other than a recent abnormal mammogram (10mm mass right breast 1-2 o clock.) confirmed by sono. never followed-up, and also that same year my first abnl. pap showing AGUS (atypical granulated cells unknown Origin?)..Both of these issues appeared the year I turned 40., I am currently 41 years 8months. Ht:5ft 3 Wt: 103 P:typically between 88-100 and B/P: typically 90/56..hypotensive consistantly. SWF

Yesterday I dropped a cranberry juice bottle that was frozen, like ice you know for a cooler, on my right foot. the bruise swelled up right away and was like a lump on my foot. It was probably 1.5 inches round and about .3 inch high. then about 12 hrs later it had spread out maybe 2.5 in across and it is now a purplish/bluish color with a light pink circle in the middle right where the bottle fell. It kind of burns when something rubs against it. The bruise flattened when it spread out. Could this be broken?
