Pain In My Neck And Shoulder Area. The Pain In

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Mar 2020
Question: Pain in my neck and shoulder area. The pain in my neck feels like a stiff neck. Started two days ago.

I also have a marble like ball (size of a XXXXXXX or smaller) on the back of my neck. Are there lymph nodes in the back of the neck (see picture where my finger is pointing)??

I had blood work for a separate issue last week. Not sure if i should go to the doctor or what could be happening.

Brief Answer:
Can be a swollen lymph node.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the neck with a palpable node is suggestive of a swollen lymph node due to any scalp related infection. The lymph nodes are present at the back of the neck also. You can start with a mild pain killer like Aleve with a hot compress. This should subside in next 2-3 days. In case the pain increases then do consult your doctor for a direct examination and prescription medicines.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
