Question: I am a 47 year old female. I have been experiencing on and off pain by my right groin, seems to be over joint area. The pain is brief and sharp when it happens and occurs on and off for a few hours ata time. The area does not hurt when palpated and I do not have a fever. I had a ct scan about a year ago and was found to have the beginnings of osteoarthritis could any of this be related? What causes a sharp groin pain.

Brief Answer:
It can be a musculoskeletal pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As per your history most likely it can be a musculoskeletal pain associated with pulled tendon or a muscular pain.
Other possibility is an evolving hernia.
As of now you can take analgesics only if you are having sharp sever pain.
If pain persist we can plan for an ultrasound scan.
Thanks.
