Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for your query.

The chances of acquiring HIV occurs in 2 cases:
1. If your partner is affected with HIV.
2. If there is any cut/raw surface in your organ through which the infection can spread.

If the above mentioned criteria doesn't hold true for your case, then there is no need to worry about getting HIV.

The important thing is that you were using a condom, this might protect you in case the HIV status of your partner is not known.

It has been 22 days since you had the exposure, & though you had got an ELISA test done, sometimes this test may take 6 months or even more than that to become positive.

So, I recommend you to get p24 assay or PCR for HIV done.
These tests becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.

If this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.

Wishing you a good health.

Take care.

Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for your follow up query.

There are many Government hospitals and hiv/253657?iL=true" >AIDS and HIV counseling centers where you can approach and get tested.
Also there are private laboratories in Mumbai and most of then are doing this test.

The results can be obtained within a day but may vary depending upon the lab.

Please don't worry.
Hope everything turns out to be fine.
Take care.
