Question: My son is 3 monts old and he has not passed stools form last 3 days. My pediatrician has suggested us to give him enema that need to be inserted in his anus. Kindly suggest if this is the right thing to do or is there any alternative. We had inserted enema in anus 15 days back as he was constipated and he passed stools immediately.

Brief Answer:
This is physiological, do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello...I understand your concern.

What you are describing is completely physiological for this age group babies.

Please do remember the scientific and physiological fact that babies of this age group can pass motion 10 days once or 10 times per day also.

As long as the baby is accepting feeds well, passing urine appropriately and is otherwise active when awake, and gaining weight appropriately you need not worry about this constipation at all.

Well my son gets very cranky and uneasy if the stool are not passed beyond 3 days and hence the enema needs to be inserted in his anus. A friend of mine told me that administration of enema to infants is bad but my pediatrician said it is absolutely fine to do so, kindly provide your opinion.

Applogies it's not enema it's glycerine capsules (image attached). And if you still don't recommend it what will be a safe alternative to relieve him from the discomfort as he gets very uneasy post 3 days of not passing stools..
