Question: My period has been really weird this cycle. here is how it goes like this 12th 13th 14th August spotting 15th-21st August what seemed like a period then 22nd August 23rd August spotting 24th 24th 26th 27th August stopped 28th August spotting and still spotting now (so another 4 days). It is more like light bleeding than spotting. Pregnancy test negative ovulation test negative so its not ovulation bleeding this is why cancer scares me. I usually have a regular 27 to 30 day cycle please help I am worried sick. I am trying to conceive and I am 42 and I worry I will never have a baby. Do you think it is cancer if not how would I know. Brief Answer:
HORMONAL variations

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
I was going through your previous Q&A history. The previous doctor has very well explained about your problem.
Your present bleeding pattern indicates that you are not ovulating and there is disparity between your oestrogen and progesterone hormones. It is likely to be like this in such patients.
You definitely need an ultrasound scan at the earliest .
HOPE you have done your thyroid hormone.
Presently you need to regularise your cycles with hormones and if planning to get pregnant you need to monitor your follicular study.
You Can also contemplate on bariatric surgery to loose weight.
Have you done AMH hormone?
Feel free to ask your doubt with more details

I have had thyroid checked all ok. I am going on a healthy eating plan to lose weight and exercise. If I lose weight will this normalize my hormones and can I ovulate naturally again as I have been pregnant naturally in the past but unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. is cancer unlikely and when should the bleeding stop. thank you very much

Brief Answer:
Thank you for reports of thyroid

Detailed Answer:
HI
NICE to know that you have modified your diet and started exercising.
Loosing 5% of your weight will help in ovulation .You can give it a try.
But ultrasound scan is a must.
Very rare chances of cancer.Usually HORMONAL alterations are the common causes of this irregular bleeding.
So get the scan and check up early.

Will the bleeding stop on it's own and as I conceived naturally before can I conceive naturally again

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Even if the bleeding stops now it can recur again. Hence I suggested for the gynecological checkup and if necessary to be on hormones for a few cycles.

With limited pieces of information, considering your age and anovulation the chances of a normal pregnancy is very less. Ovulation induction can be tried...

Feel free to ask your doubt with more details
