Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on Ask A Doctor service.

I can understand your concern and here is my advice.

Weight of 9 kg at one and half year of age is little less.
For proper weight gain frequent balanced meals containing protein, carbohydrate and fat with minerals and vitamins is needed.
Here I would suggest you to give at least 4-5 major meals(one small katori) should be given. You can give rice, daal, suji halwa, chopped vegetables, khichdi, barley, oats etc.Add ghee/full cream to the meals to meet the calori demand. In between major meals give fruits like XXXXXXX chikoo, banana. Give milk twice a day and during night times.
continue giving calcium and iron supplements.
If constipation is significant give lactulose syrup after consulting your pediatrician.
Feeding this much to a child of this age is really difficult but if you are consistent his eating habit will be better.
I hope with all these measures the weight gain will improve.

I shall be glad to help further if you need any .
Regards
