Hi,
I have read your query and understood the problem. Have you had any injury, surgery or radiation therapy to the arm or chest?

Are you on any medication like steroids? Are you diabetic? Any heart problems?

Is there any decreased hair growth or decreased sweating on the affected area of the skin?

How long has the symptoms been there for? Does it get better with any medication? Does the burning sensation start from the back of the neck to the hand?

Possible causes include Complex regional pain syndrome which can cause severe pain on touching the skin usually occurs after injury or surgery to the area. Herpes zoster infection can cause blister like lesions on the skin with similar burning sensation.

The treatment depends on the cause. Do let me know the answers to your question so that I can suggest a solution.

Thanking you.

No surgery has been performed apart from the Thyroid gland removal. The only medication that the patient is taking is Thyroxin for the above mentioned condition. The patient is not diabetic or does not have any underlying heart problems. The symptoms have been there for 7-8 months and happen at random and last for a few hours before it goes out on its o There is no burning sensation around the neck during the condition. It only happens around the affected area near the chest. I have also attached tests which the patient had today. A complete body check up which shows a decrease in TSH, Calcium and Vitamin D to name a few. Can that be a cause?

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for answering the questions. The reports are not uploaded. Low TSH and Vitamin D can cause nerve problems which can cause burning sensation. However other causes to be ruled out like local skin problems, burning pain from the back of the neck to the breast, burning pain from the breast to the hand in heart problems, Heroes zoster infection, breast problems like lumps.

This needs further examination by a surgeon if any lumps felt in the breast in female patient.

Please provide me more information as per the above mentioned points for me to able to narrow down the problem.

Thank you
