Question: Lately when walking up a slight incline am out of breath so badly i feel like I can not breathe.

I have the following other symptoms for at least 6 weeks - cough and sputum, but the labored breathing after a simple walk up my steps or a slanted terrain has just started in the past 4 days.

Your symptoms seems to be related to bronchitis.

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the airways of the lungs.
It can occur after a viral or bacterial infection.
To confirm the diagnosis you should do these examinations:

-a chest X-ray
-pulmonary tests like spirometry
-a sputum test

Treatment consist in:

-prescribed corticosteroids
-expectorants for the cough
