Brief Answer:
it is determined by many factors

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the pattern of delivery like a vaginal delivery or caesarian is determined by many factors.
6lbs weight is normal. It is not an indication for surgery.
If there are no complications like hypertension or diabetes or any other for mother and if the pelvis is adequate for the baby then normal vaginal delivery can be allowed.
If at all the progress of labour is delayed and fetus is going into distress then caesarian can be taken up.
As it is 38 weeks and if fetal movements are good with no other complication one can wait upto spontaneous onset of labour pains till 40 weeks.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.

Brief Answer:
Labour can be induced if needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, goodday.I understand your concern.I got your query.
In my opinion spontaneous onset of labour pains is always better than induction of labour.
So as I explained earlier if there are no complications waiting upto 40 weeks is a good option.
And if no onset of labour pains even at or after 40 weeks then labour is induced.
But if for any reason if delivery is needed to be done before 40 weeks in the interest of mother or baby then labour can be induced. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX contractions are painless ,irregular, recurrent contractions of uterus which are felt during the pregnancy. As they are painless and dont cause any discomfort they are not perceived by many woman.
The labour pains are regular, painful and associated with cervical discharge called show which is mucus admixed with blood.
Back pain might be associated.
Observe the fetal movements daily. As she is 38 weeks labour pains might start at any time.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.
