Brief Answer:
Needs to rule out the cardiac problem, please see the detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

This looks urgent.
Pain that awakens a person is to be taken seriously unless proved otherwise.
Your mentioning the age, gender, and any medical history would have helped me better; please mention them in follow-up.

Since the pain in the upper has awakened you which also is present in the left chest and is more of burning sensation is most probably due to severe acidity.

Firstly, take a PPI like Omeprazole/Pantoprazole or Ranitidine if you have one of these at home.
Take an antacid or at least cold milk and see if this reduces the burning sensation.

Since the pain is on the left side of the chest it is imperative to get an EKG done to see if there is any heart-related problem. Please arrange for this; do not move much.

Please give some additional history:
Your age and gender.
Any past history of similar pain or any other medical history.
Is pain radiating to the left shoulder/arm?
Any breathing trouble?
Heaviness over chest?
Feeling uncomfortable?
Any other symptoms?

Awaiting...

Your age and gender - Male, 37 years old
Any past history of similar pain or any other medical history - Yes, i went to hospital got the ECG and 2D Eco done (Everything was normal). The problem was with the anti-inflammatory drug which i was taking to heal my ligament injury. This was some 6 months ago. I have a history of acidity so right now diet control (low on carbs and fats and high on proteins and fiber) and weight-training is keeping me out of acidity.

Is pain radiating to the left shoulder/arm? No
Any breathing trouble? No
Heaviness over chest? Burning sensation
Feeling uncomfortable? Yes
Any other symptoms? Burping (maybe this is due to pudin-hara which i took. I've also taken Antacid. feeling much better now though little pain is still there.)
