Is Prolotherapy An Effective Treatment For Rotator Cuff Injury?
Question: My Orthopedic surgeon just reviewed my MRI and I have a tear in my rotator cuff. He is recommending surgery. I have heard a lot about a procedure called Prolotherapy as an alternative to surgery and wanted your input.
I will be visiting with him tomorrow and will also ask him, but would like a second opinion.

Hello,
I have studied your case. A patient with rotator cuff needs surgery. If cuff is severely damage or there is arthritis in shoulder then you need to think of reverse shoulder arthroplasty . Apart from these two no other procedure work well. Prolotherapy or injection or physiotherapy all have part time relief only. There is no long term results of all these procedure. So I would suggest you to go for surgery so that you will be back to normal work.
