Question: Hi. I was on the last day of my period yesterday, and had unprotected sex. Is there anyway that I should be thinking that I could get pregnant?

Brief Answer:
You need not worry about pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you have 28-30 days cycle the first week (starting from day one of bleeding) of your period cycle is safe. So there is no concern about pregnancy if you have sex during this period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you! I am pretty regular with my cycle. And today would be day 8. I was just concerned because I know sperm can live up in the body 5-7 days so that would be in my fertile window, so I have nothing to worry about?

Brief Answer:
You need not worry about pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sperms usually live for about 5 days. So they would not be alive at the time of ovulation which is after 7 days. So you need not worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I know I am over worrying and thank you so much for your help. It's just that we had sex late last night/early this morning so when I count five days ahead that puts me at March 5- one day before I am suppuse to ovulate. And that's saying that I don't ovulate early. I feel like I'm kind of in that murky area. Am I over thinking this too much? ;)

Brief Answer:
I think you are thinking too much.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I think you are thinking too much.
But if this thought is bothering you too much, just take emergency contraception (Plan B).

Hope I have answered your query.
