But I have been reading people's comment where some said they got pregnant immediately after there period. So I shouldn't bother taking the drug? because I am scared of getting pregnant after reading other people's comment

Does postinor have side effect like delay in pregnancy later in the future?

I am sorry I am asking plenty questions at the same time, but I need to explain this clearly to you.
My period only last for 4 days only, on the 5th day, I had sex which was yesterday, is dere any chance of me getting pregnant? cos from your response, you said " If you had intercourse on fifth day of your period (Safe period) then you need not to take Postinor. No chance of pregnancy." Its fifth day after my period.

Brief Answer:
Confirm dates

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,
First I would like to know your last period date and intercourse day date.
You had intercourse yesterday that means 9th November; you mentioned you had it on 5th day that means your cycle started on 5th November, if it is true then no need to take medication. Please confirm it.

I will explain you.
If you have 28-30 days cycle, whenever you start bleeding that day we count as first day of your menstrual cycle. Then your ovulation time will be between 12 -18 (unsafe period) or 14 days prior to your due date or mid cycle, If you have intercourse during this period then chances of pregnancy are high. I guess you know all about this.
If you had intercourse on 5th day of your cycle (or immediate day after your 4th day of your period) then no need to take postinor.
So there is no chance of ovulation immediately after period so no chance of pregnancy.
Or
If you had after 5 days of your period that means 9th or 10th of your cycle then you better take medication, I advised it since I do not about your menstrual cycle is it 28 days cycle or more.
Postinor (levonogestrol): This is used as an emergency contraceptive.
If you take it within 24 hours of intercourse it prevents pregnancy 98%.
It can cause withdrawal bleeding or may delay your periods.
If you take it on regular basis then it may cause irregular periods since it contains high amount of hormones. To get regular periods it will take 3-6 months time.

If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.

Yes Doctor, I had sex on the 9th of Nov which was yesterday. my period came out on the 5th of Nov, 2014.
Do you advise I take postinor to prevent pregnancy or I shouldn't?

Secondly, I hope postinor wont make pregnancy difficult for me when I am ready to start giving birth?

Thirdly, I noticed that when i take postinor immediately after my period, i spot for some days and sometimes a week, is it bad for me as a lady?

Brief Answer:
NO need to take Postinor

Detailed Answer:

Hello Dear,
Thanks for your detailed information.
No need to take Postinor since there no chance of pregnancy (You had intercourse in safe period)
One or two times in each cycle Postinor will not make pregnancy difficult but do not take regularly since it causes irregular periods, if you want to become pregnant and if you are getting irregular periods then do not take postinor for 2 months then you can try to conceive.
Spotting or with drawl bleeding which is most common side effect of postinor, it is not that bad (If you take one time in each cycle) but it may alter your regular cycles if you take regularly.
If you want to use it regularly then I suggest you better shift to regular birth pills (oral contraceptive pills) or use barrier method.

If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Explained below

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for your follow up query.
Oral contraceptive pills or birth pills which contains low dosage of hormones (estrogen and pregesterone) are used to prevent pregnancy, you have to take 21 days or 28 days pills. You should take every day and around same time and you can have unprotected intercourse. In early days when you start this medication also can cause side effects like irregular periods, spotting and intermenstrual bleeding. But these side effects will disappear soon. But you should take pill daily.

If you do not want to take pills daily then you can use barrier methods mean condoms (protected intercourse) whenever you have intercourse.
Postinor or morning after pill or I pill is used for as emergency contraceptive pill when condom ruptures or when you missed the regular pill or when you have unprotected intercourse accidentally.
If you want, you can take Postinor once in each cycle and other time have safe and protected intercourse.

If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
