Is Nausea After Taking Food Normal While Recovering From Glandular Fever?

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: My daughter, aged 23, has glandular fever and has for a couple of months now.
After beginning to feel better all the initial symptoms came back about a week ago: swimmy head, achey all over, shooting pains in groin, fatigue etc.

Over this time there hasn't been any improvement and a new symptom has occurred - nausea about half an hour after eating. It gets progressively worse for an hour or so before fading. She hasn't been sick yet but has retched as she's felt so nauseous. Also noticed some bubbling/rumbling on the upper left side of the stomach whilst eating.
Is it likely that this is just part of the glandular fever?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Post viral Illness

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Sorry for the delay in my response.

The symptoms your daughter has now could be due to post viral illness. Its nothing to be worried about, most of these symptoms may disappear within a week or so except fatigue which may even take a month to vanish.

There is no need for any intervention but always better to be checked for. I suggest your daughter to go for a check up with her regular treating doctor to confirm the above fact.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

Regards,
