Is multivitamin intake advisable for children?

Question: Hello mam im giving 5ml multivitamin multi minerals antioxidant tonic (zeva) twice daily to my son 3.6 years as prescribed by pead dr. Can I give zencal calcium zinc tonoc 5ml once a day afternoon. Or it z heavy dose.

Brief Answer: no Detailed Answer: Hi No , Multivitamins in higher doses also are not good. You give the tonic only once a day. Do not give anything else. If the child takes 2-3 cups of milk daily,some cheese etc, then extra calcium is not needed. Too much calcium can cause kidney stones ! Give mixed diet ,fruit s,vegetables,egg white etc Good luck Dr Uma

Not clear mam Can I give only zeva twice daily 5ml and no need of calcium tonic Or Shall i give once zeva 5ml morning and once calcium 5ml night.?

Brief Answer: once a day only Detailed Answer: Hi Let me make it clear! Give zeva 5 m.l. once a day only ( any time of the day after food) There is no need for routine calcium syrup. Calcium is not needed if child takes 3-4 cups of normal milk per day ,cheese,etc.( dairy products) Too much of calcium,vitamin , A D E K are not good and can cause problems. Good luck Dr uma
