Brief Answer:
Could be avascular necrosis of hip.

Detailed Answer:
Hi , I am Dr Gopal Goel ,Orthopedic Surgeon.

It is not normal at your age for the hip to grind and have pain. It can occur when there is avascular necrosis of hip (Loss of blood supply in hip) , arthritis or a loose body in the hip. As a first step I would suggest x rays to rule out any serious pathology. Start mild anti inflammatory pain killer + muscle relaxant in the meantime.

Thanks for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
