Brief Answer:
Drug tapering is the standard mode.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

Blood pressure should be treated depending on the cause whether primary hypertension (without a known cause)or secondary hypertension(with a known cause).

Antihypertensives should be continued until secondary causes if any are completely treated.

Blood pressure medication shouldn't be stopped suddenly as it may lead to rebound hypertension.

So I advise you to taper the drug slowly under strict medical supervision and regular blood pressure monitoring.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Drug tapering is mandatory.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

Yes, you should never stop the drug suddenly. This will cause rebound elevation of heart rate and blood pressure, which can be critical.

All you need to do is to reduce the drug dose slowly by 25% approx over a period of 7-10 days to finally the drug stopped.

This tapering mode will help the body to adjust accordingly.

Please check with your physician for this tapering surveillance.

Post your further queries if any.
Thanking you.
