Is A Minor Elbow Injury Indicative Of Tennis Elbow?

Question: I just finished bowling in league tonight. In the 8th frame of my second game my elbow gave out on me, at which point, I could not follow through on my swing and could not even bend my elbow at a 90 degree angle. This was a recurring issue last year and I wrote it down to tennis elbow. I started wearing a brace last year and it seemed to help a little. I did not bowl during the summer and tonight was my first night of league bowling and once again, it gave out. Not sure if this is really tennis elbow any longer because it had an opportunity to heal all summer.

Brief Answer:
It is most likely Tennis Elbow

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
The way you have described your injuries , to me they seem to be only due to Tennis Elbow. If the damage is too much , they may not heal and even if they heal, healing is with scar tissue which gives way easily.
For recurrent Tennis elbow it is better to give local steroid injection and if it recurs even then , may require surgery with extended physiotherapy.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any further question.
