Is HIV ELISA Test Done 3 Months After Possible Exposure Conclusive?

Question: Hello Doc, I guess you remeber i asked yoy question abiut my mouth ulcers and groin pain and i also mentioned you that some unknow girl kissed me in party 6 months back and i am worried about HIV. and you suggested me to undergo HIV ELISA test. I took HIV ELISA and it came back negative. (Its exactly 5 months and 15 days passed after the kiss). Can we consider the result conclusive or you want me to retest it after somedays ???

It is good that the test has turned out to be negative. I don't see any reason for you to be bothered about hiv now.
Hiv elisa testing done three months after exposure is conclusive and definite while in your case ,It has been about five months, so it rules out any late reactors too.
So relax and don't worry about it now, and remember to be cautious in future.
