Epilex chrono is divalproate sodium which is indicated for acute treatment as well as maintenance phase of bipolar disorder.

Since Lithuim another drug is affected by renal secretion it becomes difficult to use in most elderly so I think the choice of epilex chrono is in right manner considering two episodes of delirium.

The patient has suffered from bipolar disorder for over 50 years but why was there two episodes of delirium and confusion regarding time, place etc. is just four years.

Delirium is syndrome which can be caused by 100 of factors.

I feel in case of index patient it could be old age and medications or some other infections and sensory impairments.
