Brief Answer:
Rare side effects and important guidelines mentioned below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Diamox contains Acetazolamide which is classified under carbonic anhydrase inhibitor.

2. It has use in preventing symptoms of high altitude sickness. It reduces headache, tiredness, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath during rapid ascent.

3. Other uses include glaucoma which is an eye problem and also for conditions where water gets accumulated in the body like cardiac failure. It might also be given to treat seizures. Treatment with diamox is for short duration.

4. In few people it might cause side effects like dizziness, lightheadedness, increased urination. Rarely it might cause temporary blurred vision, dry mouth, drowsiness, loss of appetite, stomach upset, headache and tiredness.

5. If you have any medical condition involving liver, adrenal, electrolyte disturbances, kidneys then please discuss with your doctor before taking it.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
