Question: I'm 37 year old male. I have got 100 fever since 2 days with blocked nose and white liquid mucus comes out when blown but not running watery nose. Itching throat. Not frequent ongoing cough but irritating throat once in a while. Whenever I take dolo 650mg fever subsides. Every 8 hours I take dolo. I take steam inhalation and also turmeric harad I have. What blood test to do to confirm if this is viral or bacterial infection. I don't want to visit physical doctor as it's risky nowadays to go to doctor.

Brief Answer:
It can be bacterial infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
High grade fever with thick nasal discharge indicates possibility of bacterial infection.
We can not definitely predict the whether the disease is bacterial or viral in origin. In most cases the disease starts as a viral illnesses which might get super infected with bacteria.
If you do a complete blood count the proportion of neutrophils will be high in case of bacterial infection, but it is not hundred percent reliable.
You can also go for a culture study of the discharge to isolate the organism.
If symptoms persists you can start a short course of antibiotics empirically.
Thanks

There is no thick nasal discharge and not high grade fever. Are there any test which clearly show bacterial or viral.
