Brief Answer:
Seborrheic dermatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I can see a red patch of skin on the back of your neck. You seem to have Seborrheic dermatitis. It presents as an itchy, red, dry, scaly patch on scalp which may involve the hair line as well as the adjoining skin on face and neck. Seborrheic dermatitis is a steroid responsive dermatosis. I suggest you to use an OTC topical steroid e.g hydrocortisone acetate 1% cream, twice daily for a few days.

Thanks.

The concern is my right gland in my neck is swollen as well. I also have the same rash over my right ear. My son had ringworm 2 weeks ago. Is it possible it’s related to ringworm and if I have a swollen gland, is internal medicine needed?

Brief Answer:
Regarding rash on neck

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes, It could be a ringworm though a ringworm usually doesn't cause swollen glands. Seborrheic dermatitis and ringworm look similar clinically. Both are red, itchy, scaly patches.. It would be helpful if you can also upload an image of the rash on your ear. If it is ringworm I would suggest you to use ketoconazole 2% cream, twice daily, instead of hydrocortisone cream.

Let me know if you need any more assistance .
Thanks.
