Hello Mr. Ajaya,

From your question, I can understand this much, you have been diagnosed to have high blood pressure by your doctor and also low calcium levels.

Both these conditions need to be taken seriously and must be treated adequately so that you do not develop complications from both.

That said, to be able to provide you with some useful guidelines and answer your question directly, I would need all the details.

What was the blood pressure, how many times has the blood pressure been checked before diagnosing high blood pressure?

What are the medicines prescribed by your doctor?

What is the frequency of these medicines suggested by the doctor?

When was the diagnosis of high blood pressure made?

What is the nature of your work?

Where do you live?

What do you do for keeping yourself healthy?

Do you exercise regularly?

What is your blood sugar level?

What is your dietary habit? How much salt to you consume approximately in a day including the salt in all the meals you eat?

What is your age?

Please write back to me with detailed answers to all my questions to get a better idea about your current health situation to provide you with actionable guidelines.

That said, if your doctor has prescribed medicines to control your blood pressure and correct your low calcium levels, then your blood pressure must have been high enough to worry your doctor about your health.

Please continue taking the medicines prescribed by your doctor as advised by him/her, please do not stop them abruptly without your doctors advise.

I will answer your question if you provide all the details I am requesting.

Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Thank you for getting back with all the information. Change brand of tablet

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr Ajaya.

Thank you so much for writing back with all the answers, this gives me a better idea of what might be going on.

Your weight for your height is on the lower side, and this could indicate inadequate nutrition, which is also evident from low calcium levels.

The blood pressure medicine you are taking is ideal, but I doubt the quality of the particular brand because it has no effect in 4 months.

I suggest you to change the brand to either alkem or mankind (Telmiduce 40 or Telmikind 40), this should work out for you.

But considering your age, your weight, and the refractory nature of your blood pressure, I am compelled to think of any other issue like hyperthyroidism.

Please get your thyroid profile done to see this.

Now coming to how to go about controlling your blood pressure, I suggest you to limit salt intake to about less than 5 grams per day (including all sources).

Please go out in sun and walk daily, you don't have to start running from day 1, take your time, get some sunlight to fall on your bare skin. Gradually increase the speed and distance over one to 2 years.

In your diet you must increase proteins, eat one boiled egg every day in the morning and one in the evening.

Eat fish at least 2 to 3 times a week, eat chicken or mutton once or twice a week.

This is important to keep you fit to go about your daily activities..

Reduce your work related and all other stress from life by solving whatever troubles you may be facing that is making it difficult.

Stress and anxiety is one the main reasons for such blood pressure that is not responding to medication.

So, if there is stress and anxiety, then please consult a psychiatrist to get it under control, so that your blood pressure comes under control.

Include milk and milk products in your diet to improve calcium levels.

Get your vitamin B12 levels checked too.

Start with these recommendations and let us hope these will make a positive impact soon.

You can write back to me after one week with how things go, keep checking your blood pressure daily at a specific time, keep a record of the blood pressure readings.

I wish you good health.

Best regards
