Question: I have been having pain in my penis, but have no STDs. The pain feels like pressure and is located in the shaft and head. It sometimes feels better after urinating and sometimes causes a need to urinate, even if I have just used the bathroom. It ranges from very painful to barely noticable, and isn’t there all the time in general. No other symptoms at all.

Brief Answer:
Urethritis and balanoposthitis have to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Before answering to your query, you need to provide more information.
1. Are you married and living with your wife? If so, when was you last marital contact?
2. What are your sexual activity other than with your wife or with a permanent partner? Any homosexual activities?
3 Do your sex partner or wife have any genital problem or had any recent episodes?
4. How did you tell that you are free from STDs? What are all the test you had undergone?
Please sen these details. On the basis of which I can provide more inputs.

Anyhow, Pain over genitals can be due to mild balanoposthitis or due to urethritis or prostatitis.
It could also be due to some inadequate treatment of your past episodes.
Anyhow it will not be a serious one. Not to worry.
Thanks.

Hi!

1. Not married, no girlfriend, no homosexual
2. Last sex was a few weeks ago and had a planned broad std test recently. Should I be worried I got false negatives?
3. She had no stds either.

ALSO:

I did have strep throat roughly 3.5 weeks ago and had a z-pak for that. Also, another thing that relieves the pain is ejaculation (ie masturbation.)

Brief Answer:
Possibity of Prostatitis has to be ruled out or thought of.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Very interesting to know about you.
You had an elobrate tests for STDs. Blood tests will become reactive in the presence of an infection not immediately, but takes time to manifest in blood. For example, Syphilis will show blood test reactive 4 weeks after the exposure in the presence of an infection whereas in HIV, this window period may extend up to 12 weeks after the exposure.
If all your tests were Non-reactive even after 3-4 months after the exposure, then your results will be highly reliable and you can be declared that you are free from STD.
Pain over penis relieved by ejaculation, the possibility of prostatitis can be considered. A prostatic massage will help in this regards. Consult your physician and get well soon.
Thanks.
