Question: I have been dealing with very bad neck pain for about 2 years now along with very intense headaches. About 6 months ago I started to have muscle spasms in my upper back followed by arm and shoulder pain on both sides. For a couple weeks I had numbness in my left bicep. I had a mri of the cervical spine and they found a small central disc herniation that is contacting my spinal cord slightly. The headaches last pretty much all day long and they are very intense and they are located in the back of my head. It seems like all of these symptoms get worse and worse throughout the day and by night time I have such a bad headache, neck pain and the muscle spasms along with the shoulder and arm pain that it feels like I can barley move. I%E2%80%99ve tried the chiropractor, physical therapy, muscle relaxers, and recently an epidural steroid injection in my neck. After the injection I felt great with no symptoms at all for 2 and a half weeks and now for the last week it feels like it%E2%80%99s worn off and the symptoms are worse. Any ideas on what I should do next?? Back in Febuary I saw a spine specalist that wanted to do a cervical disc replacement. Does this sound like this is definetly where my symotoms are coming from??
