I Have Aching In My Testes After A Bout Of

Question: I have aching in my testes after a bout of stimulants, including adderal, and other amphetamines. I have had this issue over the last year on and off after long bouts of sexual activity without ejaculating combined with stimulants.

The first time I was diagnosed less than a year ago with swollen epididymus. This happens sometimes when I use stimulants where the epididymus gets swollen and it usually goes down after a day or two. I took antibiotics and it seemed to get smaller. I had an MRI I think it was or ultra sound at a separate facility (I don't know the difference). It showed I have 2 cysts.

So, since my epididymis gets swollen from sex and stimulants ever since then but goes down, and nothing else other than cysts showed up on test, I don't know what the source is

I plan to see a doctor tomorrow. But I'm wondering how much an emergency this could be? If I feel a light ache down there, swollen right side, and the scrotum is a bit darker than usual and tighter. Should I go to ER? Or can this wait a day or two for appointment?

Wondering all the possibilities here. I would think that STI could be ruled out since I took antibiotics, have been tested once or twice since with no new results. They didn't see anything cancerous, just 2 cysts. I am thinking that there is an underlying problem which is exacerbated by my actions and what I put in my body. But the ache is last longer this time since it's been about 24 hours since I had any stimulants.

Thank you for the thorough history. From what you describe I find it safe to wait a day or two, it may just be the cysts reacting. If the pain intensifies you should however seek urgent medical attention.

Thank you. I saw a general practioner about this when it first came up. After antibiotics and Ultra sound, he said I should come back in still for more tests. I just brushed it aside, because I don't have insurance and figuring it was probably a bacterial infection that was cleared. Since the issue is always there that I can feel the epididymis slightly enlarged, would you predict the cyst is on that? The acute inflammation and pain occurs only in conjunction with the actions mentioned above. I was getting really scared reading about people losing circulation, having to lose their testicles.

Assuming I will see a Urologist next, I suppose I should get all of the paperwork with Ultra sound and medication from the last doctor to give the urologist correct? Or

Hi again,

It is a good idea to see a urologist and give him your available health-related information, including scans. What you describe sounds like either recurrent epididymitis, a cyst or a hydrocele. Nothing to worry about. Since you describe the pain is intermittent, there is an off chance that it is testicular torsion. If the urologist finds this likely, you may need a small operation.
