I Had Ovarian Cysts Removed 6 Days Ago Through A

Question:

I had ovarian cysts removed 6 days ago through a laparoscopic procedure. They found a hernia during surgery but was unable to repair it at that time. I have been off meds since day 2. The last 24 hours I have felt lightheaded, even while sitting/lying down. A headache came a few hours ago. Is this light headedness normal? I feel like I ve had a few alcoholic drinks.

Brief Answer:
needs examination

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Lightheadedness after a surgery has to be evaluated well. This could be a sign of internal bleed leading to hypotension. A detailed physical examination with an ultrasound scan to ascertain whether or not there is an internal bleed has to be done.

The headache and the other disturbances could as well be due to medication or anesthesia given during the procedure. It may take some time for the effect to wear off.

I would recommend a visit to the ER as early as possible to get a full clinical examination and find out the cause for the problems you have.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

regards,
