What Might Cause Persistent Sore Throat And Recurrent Fever That Doesn't Allow One To Function Properly?

Question: I became ill on a cruise ship almost two weeks ago with bad sore throat and recurring fever. My husband got it from me and he had a negative strep test.
What’s going on? I can’t function still.

Low grade fevers, 99-101 degrees. I don’t think I have respiratory infection,
Sore throat and feeling sick and weak continues. So, it could be a three or four week harmless virus?

Also, fevers recur daily.

Based on your symptoms I suggest to do a full blood count with ESR ,EBV serology, TSH, thyroid and neck ultrasound in order to exclude a thyroiditis or mononucleosis.
