I am 54 yo male. A few days ago after sex with my wife I experienced pain while urinating (at the end of peeing, dull pain) and then also blood in the urine.
I went to ER, where the did urine test (confirmed blood), blood test (normal) and CT. CT was normal with the exception of the small inflammation of the right uterer. I have a history of prostatitis and the ER doc believes it is a flare up of the one. He prescribed Cipro for 2 weeks.
I am concerned about Bladder Cancer or some other serious condition (why uterer inflamed ?).
I understand that bladder scope is the gold standard. Do I need one ?
I am scheduled to go for a 2 week trip overseas next week, and not sure I will be able to get into urologist office before then. Should I cancel the trip ?

Brief Answer:
There is no possibility of cancer of bladder .

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted pain while urinating and small quantity of blood in urine that you had is mostly due to flare up of Prostate Infection (Prostatitis) that you had previously.

The inflammation f ureter that has been reported on C T scan is a part of common Genito Urinary infection and is nothing to be worried about .

As regards your fear about bladder cancer I can assure you with confidence that there is no possibility of the same at all even a minor pathology is detected on CT Scan .

Continue the antibiotics prescribed for 2-3 weeks .You may do Semen Examination and Semen culture .This will help to start an appropriate antibiotics as per culture report .

Avoid sexual activities till gets cured completely.

There is no need to postpone your trip .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Could you please clarify your statement :"As regards your fear about bladder cancer I can assure you with confidence that there is no possibility of the same at all even a minor pathology is detected on CT Scan ."

Does it mean that CT Scan would have detected cancer ? Or not ?

Thank you
