What Can Be Done When Urine Test Results Show Pus Cells While On Duonem-200 For About 2 Months?
Question: I AM 60 YEARS OLD (MALE). URINE TEST RESULTS SHOW PUS CELLS (10-12/HPF) RED BLOOD CELLS (5-6/HPF) AND A FEW EPITHELIAL CELLS. NO CAST.

I would like to know if you have any symptoms like:
- Burning sensation while passing urine
- lower abdominal pain
- lower backache
- increased frequency of passing urine
If I was your treating physician, I would suggest you to start on a course of antibiotic such as T. OFLOX 200mg for a period of 5 days. Also, it would be worthwhile to consult a urologist for further examination and evaluation of the urinary tract.

Yes, there can be a presence of UTI even with negative urine culture as the growth of the bacteria can be scarce enough to not to be taken up in the culture.
I would suggest you to take T. OFLOX 200mg twice daily for 5 days. This should help to clear out the infection .
Serum Creatinine value of 1.1 is normal. Nothing to worry.
