How Long Should Blood Pressure And Cholestrol Medication Be Taken?

Question: My mother is aged around 68 years.
She has no specific ailment history as such and is almost normal.
Over the past 2-3 years she was advised to have below 2 medicines :-
1) AMLOPIN-1T ( For Blood Pressure)
2) CLTRO 10 ( For Cholestrol )

I want your advice as to til when she should continue these medicines.

I also plan to get her health check up done - please suggest me what type of health check up /test should be done for her .

Note - She was operated (laser operations) for trigeminal Nuralgia around 2 years ago .The side effects of this been , she feels a lot of heat on the inner left of her cheek, due to which she has to keep her mouth open at times and puts on the fan to feel confortable.

The above medications you mentioned are the simplest for the problems. How long to be taken depends on whether the condition is under control. You may have to get her health checkup regularly which includes blood test like Lipid profile to determine whether or not to continue the cholestrol medication. Once the test results are normal then stopping would the plan. Same applies to the blood pressure medication too. Getting the blood pressure checked regularly is very essential.
