How Long Does It Take For A Reshaped Crown To Settle Down In Mouth?

default
Posted on Sat, 7 Mar 2015
Question: Hi how long does it take for a reshaped crown to settle down in my mouth? I also had a laser to remove a small lesion that had was underneath my gum flap above the tooth where the crown was reshaped. The gumline had got very tender and bled as a result of the lesion under the gumflap. I was at dentist for 2 hours on Monday afternoon and since then my teeth and gums have been a bit tender and sore. My bite seems to be quite good but with all the work done on my tooth and gums, how long will it take for the gums and teeth to settle down?  I have been taking asprin if the soreness starts to annoy me. I am due to see the dental hygenist in 3 weeks time to check gums.

Brief Answer:
Around 15-20 days it takes; do gum massage

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in.

As per your history, i would suggest you to wait for another 15-20 days for gums to settle down. Meanwhile you do gum massage with gum tone gel 2-3 times a day. Also do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day, so that no food lodgement occurs in that region.
Take pain killer only in case of severe pain.
Visit prosthodontist for further problem.

Hope I answered your query
